One thing I absolutely love about the Fire Emblem series is being able to consistently create a diverse cast of characters for each entry. There's always something that differentiates them from other characters of their own games and from even other entries, and it makes getting to know these characters an interesting and enjoyable experience. With this blog series, I hope to highlight some of my favorite characters of the franchise.

Anna made her first debut as an named NPC, allowing players to recruit her sweetheart and first ballistician, Jake, who is also another reoccurring character. From there on, she's made an appearance in almost all the following games sans Gaiden. She is commonly known as the secret merchant or a guide through the games' tutorials; however, her cameos are incomplete without her signature pose, with a cheeky smirk and a pointed finger accompanying her visage.
While her first appearance was as unit in Path of Radiance, Anna makes her first playable appearance as a trickster in Awakening. Humorously, as one of the traveling merchants, she explains to the Shepherds that she has numerous sisters traveling abroad, with one managing the Outrealms, and every one of them are completely identical with the same name. As aforementioned, they mostly served as the secret merchants that are scattered across Ylisse and Valm, who are welcoming to those with a hefty wallet.
On the other hand, the Anna that joins the Shepherds is determined to make a ton of money, and she is always looking into schemes in order to increase the profit margins. She, along with her sisters, are sympathetic to other merchants, and they keep an extensive log of all their experiences during their travels. With the promise of finding a huge payout, she loves to travel the numerous continents to fulfill her adventurous spirit.
