WHOOPS! I almost forgot about this! :)

One thing I absolutely love about the Fire Emblem series is being able to consistently create a diverse cast of characters for each entry. There's always something that differentiates them from other characters of their own games and from even other entries, and it makes getting to know these characters an interesting and enjoyable experience. With this blog series, I hope to highlight some of my favorite characters of the franchise. :)

EphraimName: Ephraim

Origin: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Other Interesting quirks:

+ Only lord in the series that uses lances as a primary weapon

+ Shares leading role with his twin sister, Eirika.

+ Starting class is reminiscent to a Soldier

Despite his upbringing as the crown-prince of Renais, Ephraim aspired to achieve the strength that his father and Drussel, a general from Grado, had reached. In fact, he was taught by the Grado General to become the lance wielder he is currently known for. He is also engaged in a heated rivalry with the prince of Frelia, Innes, and both are pushed to show-up the other, though Ephraim sees it more as friendly competition.

Before the invasion, both Ephraim and Eirika were close friends with Lyon, crown-prince of Grado, and they would spend many hours together, content with each others' presence. Once Grado's assault commenced, however, he lost contact with his beloved friend, and he confronted the invasion with guerrilla tactics, all while Eirika escaped to Frelia. He is often concerned for his sister's safety, and he immediately rushed to her aid when her attempt to rescue him from his supposed 'capture' ended up as a trap.

Ephraim is sometimes chastised by his instructors, or teased by Lyon, for being negligent towards academic studies, but he's a warrior at heart; despite this, he is held with high reverence as the future king of Renais by his own knights and friends. He is also an incredibly determined leader with an aptitude for strategy of his own, and he'll always set out to fulfilling his goals. Even with the odds against him, he carries himself with a leveled head and usually never allows his emotions to get the better of him.
