One thing I absolutely love about the Fire Emblem series is being able to consistently create a diverse cast of characters for each entry. There's always something that differentiates them from other characters of their own games and from even other entries, and it makes getting to know these characters an interesting and enjoyable experience. With this blog series, I hope to highlight some of my favorite characters of the franchise.

Hector hails from House Ostia of the Lycian League, with his brother Uther as the reigning Marquess; his parents died from an illness, so his elder sibling is always concerned for him, fully aware of his bold nature. At the age of 12, he became acquainted with Eliwood, and the two swore a blood oath that they would spar every two months. About thirty matches later, the pair share an even amount of wins and loses.
Despite his noble background, Hector always speaks his mind, and he is considered blunt by most. While he is often seen butting heads with friends and allies (especially Lyn), he is incredibly compassionate for his brothers and sisters-in-arms. On the other hand, he also bears an impulsive fighting style, from being self-taught, and this sometimes raises the consternation of others.
With the disappearance of Marquess Elbert of Pherae, Hector was eager to join Eliwood on the lord's search for his father.
