One thing I absolutely love about the Fire Emblem series is being able to consistently create a diverse cast of characters for each entry. There's always something that differentiates them from other characters of their own games and from even other entries, and it makes getting to know these characters an interesting and enjoyable experience. With this blog series, I hope to highlight some of my favorite characters of the franchise. :)

As a devout follower of St. Elimine, Lucius is native to the country of Etruria, a nation dedicated to the legendary heroine. However, the monk had lived through a tumultuous childhood; at the age of three, he witnessed a thief murdering his father before his very eyes, who was a renown mercenary during the time. It was not long afterwards before his mother joined her husband, eventually succumbing to disease. For the remainder of his adolescent years, he lived in an orphanage where he is often ridiculed by his feminine looks by the other children.

Once he was able to leave the orphanage, Lucius traveled across Elibe and came across House Cornwell of Lycia, where he became a retainer of the famed household. From his stay, he became familiar with the heir of family, Raymond, and they were fast friends for over a decade, being one of very few people that the noble opened up to. One day, however, the Marquess and his wife were mysteriously assassinated, and with the suspicion of corruption, House Cornwell was dissolved by House Ostia. Seeing Raymond in his distraught state, Lucius unsuccessfully pleaded to his liege to not follow the path of vengeance, who adopted his new name, Raven, and left to clear his family's name.

As a man of faith, Lucius is the epitome of compassionate, who is caring towards everyone he meets. Even when he found his father's murderer, he had forgiven the man for his crime. When someone is distressed, he is quick to lend his assistance in the time of need, such as when he finds Nils was hiding from the Black Fang's grasp only to be kicked out of a inn.

Despite his fragile demeanor, Lucius can be incredibly stubborn when it comes to Raven's welfare. When he reunites with his liege, he is insistent on keeping the former lord away from committing retribution.

With the war over, Lucius found himself living near Araphen, where he built his own orphanage to care for the children.
