One thing I absolutely love about the Fire Emblem series is being able to consistently create a diverse cast of characters for each entry. There's always something that differentiates them from other characters of their own games and from even other entries, and it makes getting to know these characters an interesting and enjoyable experience. With this blog series, I hope to highlight some of my favorite characters of the franchise. :)

SkrimirName: Skrimir

Origin: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Other interesting quirks:

+ One of only three playable Lion laguz, which are the strongest of the beast tribe laguz.

+ His appetite is comparable to Ike's

+ Named crown successor to Gallia's throne

Being the King of Gallia's nephew, Skrimir is the successor that would one day lead a nation of beast laguz citizens. During the Mad King's war, he initially wanted to participated but wasn't allowed to do so by his uncle, Caineghis. Three years later, he is given the opportunity to prove his leadership with the war against the Begnion Empire.

However, because of Gallia's non-existent experience in invading another country, this placed a large amount of pressure on Skrimir's shoulders, but he is completely unfazed by this challenge; in fact, he took his role with incredible arrogance, and he truly believed that his might would overcome his human opponents. Despite his nature, he was willing to work alongside the Greil Mercenaries as their combined forces would have to penetrate through Begnion's defenses.

As the fighting reached a stalemate, Skrimir was impressed by Soren's ingenious, successful strategy to drive out Begnion's defensive front, and he learned to not underestimate Beorc wisdom; surprisingly, he even expressed gratitude to the army's newly appointed tactician for how far the Alliance has come. Unfortunately, his impulsive, prideful nature came out into the forefront once again when he accepted a duel against the Begnion Central Army's commander, Zelgius, and he barely escaped with his life. His downfall had forced the Laguz Alliance into retreating.

With this degrading defeat, Skrimir never felt as much shame as he ever did before, and for a while, he was a shell of his former, fiery self. However, the lives of his brothers-in-arms prevented him from sulking for much longer, and his determination is renewed as the army marched back to Gallia. From here on, his fiery drive and pride became significantly subdued, and he doesn't throw himself into the battlefield as quickly as before. Regardless, his might is as fearsome and terrorizing as ever.
