One thing I absolutely love about the Fire Emblem series is being able to consistently create a diverse cast of characters for each entry. There's always something that differentiates them from other characters of their own games and from even other entries, and it makes getting to know these characters an interesting and enjoyable experience. With this blog series, I hope to highlight some of my favorite characters of the franchise. :)

Name: Mia

Origin: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance; Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

  • Throughout the saga, she is searching for her 'white-robed arch-rival' and would challenge almost anyone that fits this description.
  • She is also Ike's most preferred sparring partner, and she calls him 'Boss' mostly.

As a Crimean mercenary, Mia was contracted by the army to bolster their forces against the Daein invasion. One day, she was captured by the enemy soldiers before being graciously rescued by Greil, who she felt indebted to. Through meeting up with Ike in Gallia, she joined the ranks of the mercenary group as they searched for some of their missing members, including Greil. After the untimely death of their leader, Mia decided to stay with the Mercenaries even though she was free of the debt in Ike's eyes.

Mia is an incredibly energetic young woman, and she strives to refine her skills to where her training regimen is considered extreme by most; at the break of dawn, she would often be seen dueling with Ike. One thing that upsets her greatly is when she isn't taken seriously just because she is a woman, and she would go against anyone who make those stereotypical remarks. Although she has her quirks, she is also kind and looks out for her friends' safety and well-being.

From her continued stay with the mercenaries, Mia developed an admiration for Ike and his growth as a swordsman and a leader, so she remained with the Greil Mercenaries even after the Mad King's war was over. Despite her search for her arch-rival in white robes, she never found anyone that she deemed worthy of holding that title. At the end of the series, she traveled throughout Tellius, searching for new opponents.
